Sagar Talele completead his B.E. in Mechanical Engineering from Government College of Engineering, Jalgaon, where he developed a glass cleaning robot as his degree project, followed by M.Tech in CAD/CAM & Robotics at K.J. Somaiya College of Engineering, Mumbai. He had participated in MEDIC 2016 at VNIT, where his team developed an innovative concept device for skin grafting. He joined BETiC in August 2017, and is currently developing modular laparoscopic heads and connector mechanism.
Dr. Suresh Deshpande, Laparoscopic surgeon at Swarup Hospital, Kolhapur, introduced this problem of interchanging the instruments during the surgery and discussed how it can be done by developing detachable jaws for laparoscopic instruments. The problem was defined as, ?Interchangeable jaws for handle and shaft assembly of a laparoscopic surgery instrument done by assistants?..
